Our client opened in 2019 and purpose-built to industry leading standards. The practice is a multidisciplinary referral hospital offering the very best in veterinary excellence, all under one roof. Due to continued growth they are now looking for two Lead Night Registered Veterinary Nurses to join their team.
They specialise in the areas of orthopaedics, neurology, internal medicine and soft tissue surgery, housing world-class facilities on the premises from advanced imaging machines to specialist treatment and aftercare rooms. They have 1.5T Siemens MRI scanner, 128 Slice GE CT scanner, doppler ultrasound, endoscopy, arthroscopy and state-of-the-art operating theatres, and separate dog and cat wards. The supportive, expert team is continually growing along with their caseload and client base and they have recently opened a second building which is dedicated to ECC and OOH cases and houses a large ICU for our critical patients. The client is fully committed to the wellbeing of the team of over 80 employees and they are thrilled to see how this is reflected in the consistent positive feedback from the team satisfaction surveys.
They have now created new roles for 2 Lead Night RVNs to join the dedicated OOH and ECC team. You will be passionate, confident and knowledgeable veterinary nurse, who is keen to progress into a leadership position within a busy referral & emergency hospital. They pride themselves on championing high-quality nursing and are true advocates for supporting personal growth and clinical development for the entire nursing team.
The shift times are 7.30pm-8.30am and they are ideally looking for someone who can commit to a full-time position which would be 3 nights during the week, plus some weekend support on a rota basis. They are committed to providing industry-leading salaries for the RVNs, which will be circa 19.00/hr dependent on experience. The Lead Night RVN will be able to demonstrate exceptional communication skills by regularly liaising efficiently and openly with the Head Nurse, to share relevant feedback and maintain a positive working relationship. The successful candidate will have experience and confidence in a lead role, and will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Provide training, support and guidance to all members of the nursing team
- Probation and annual performance reviews
- Motivating and managing a large nursing team
- Creating, assessing and implementing SOPs
- Maintaining the highest possible standards of patient care
- Provide support to the Head Nurse with additional tasks such as rota and holiday management
The emergency team provides OOH care to referral inpatients, as well as first opinion emergency cases that come in overnight and stay with them for the duration of their care. The clinical aspect of the role would be perfectly suited to RVNs who enjoy the variety of OOHs work and would thrive in a role where they can focus on nursing critical patients within the large, purpose-built intensive care unit. This is not a sole charge position and you will work your night shifts within a team of clinicians, RVNs and ACAs.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with experience in a leadership position within a busy, hospital environment and will have experience of working OOHs. Referral experience would also be beneficial. Most importantly, theey are looking for nurses who align with their vision and values. They care with integrity and transparency, with the wellbeing of patients at the heart of everything they do.
