Full or Part Time Registered Veterinary Nurse - near Aylesbury

Julie Powell
Our client has a group of 3 practices in the Aylesbury/Oxford area who are looking for a full time Registered veterinary Nurse to join them.

The role will be based in the main hospital giving a broad caseload. The practice is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Chilterns in the South-East of England. The practice is recruiting with the aim of maintaining the very high clinical standards already set and giving the rewarding work life balance expected from the modern RVN.

They offer a well experienced and interactive team of lovely Vets, Nurses and support staff. As a training hospital you will be encouraged in the training and assistance for Student Veterinary Nurses. You will have the ability to further your own clinical interests which will be actively supported.

The Out of Hours care that they provide for in-patients will enable anyone with an emergency and critical care interest to be furthering their experience. The hospital provides separate dog/cat wards, isolation facilities, on-site laboratory, digital x ray, dental x ray, ultrasound, and endoscopy and enjoys the standards expected from an RCVS Veterinary Hospital.

There is a team of eight Vets over three sites, with five vets working from the hospital. The client is expanding the Veterinary and Nursing teams to provide an excellent work/life balance. The team have an active social presence in the area (present situation permitting) and are currently planning a fund raising charity event for this year.

The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic. The position is 40 hours per week on a rota basis, that is either over weekdays, weekends or night duties. Day duties are eight hours. Nurses are responsible for the overnight care of hospital in patients and will be on site in the hospital campus. They aim for at minimum a 1:6 rota for night duty and weekends. The nurses can work full time or chose a flexible part-time option to fit around child-care or personal pursuits. Work begins at 8am and the shift patterns are built around an eight hour day. You might be on theatre nursing, recovery, kennel nursing, radiography, laboratory work or be involved in active nursing clinics which the hospital provides. For those on night duty there is a late afternoon start followed by a day off after duty. The practice will, if required, be able to provide accommodation on site.
