Full or Part Time Experienced SA Vet for Well Established Team in Suffolk - No OOH's

Steph Ward
Our client based near Ipswich in Suffolk is looking for 2 permanent experienced small animal vets to join their friendly practice team.

The practice is within a Grade 2 listed building and has had a purpose built extension added in 2008 with state of the art equipment included. Experienced vets are supported by 4 qualified nurses as well as an established reception team.

The rota is based on a 4 day week with 1 in 3 Saturday mornings until 13:00. On weekdays the practice is open to the public at 08:30, closing at 19:00 except Friday, which is until 18:00.
They offer 15 minute appointments or multiples of this depending upon the case need. Clinic times run from 8.30am until 12pm with appropriate rest breaks, 2pm until 4 pm then 5pm until 6.45pm, 6pm on a Friday.
Typically each vet will have at least one full operating session each week when they will start on the operation list first thing in the morning with help from the consulting vets starting mid morning. There is a real team approach to helping with the operation workload so it is completed in good time. Rest breaks tend to be taken together which creates a good sense of team spirit.
Cases can be discussed and this helps support vets with their work load and sharing of knowledge and experiences. The surgery typically has 3-4 vets working each day with 2 vets on a Saturday morning so you will never work alone.

The practice continues to strive for a great work life balance, therefore there are no OOH requirements.

This is an RCVS GP status accredited, Cat Friendly Practice and TP Nurse Training centre. The facilities include digital x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy/bronchoscopy, fully equipped laboratory facilities and multi parameter monitoring equipment, radio surgery, Class IV K laser, Tonometry and Bair Hugger. Fully trained reception team, 5 RVN's 4 of whom were trained in-house. Two full time vets, the advertised position would be to increase this to 4 full time vets. Part time vet team of 4-5 vets most having worked full time here until having a family.

The successful candidates will be veterinary surgeon with some experience, ideally 2 years plus, and be keen to develop personal interests within a successful first opinion small animal practice.
Once settled you would be encouraged to study for a certificate following the paths of others. Flexibility and being a good team player are two key attributes.

On offer for the right candidates is a generous package that won't disappoint.
Benefits (subject to pro rata);
• 5 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
• 5 days paid CPD leave
• 1250 CPD Allowance per annum
• Private Medical Insurance
