Fantastic, Friendly Practice seek RVNs for Full-Time role in South London

Our client in South London are looking for a couple of fabulous Registered Veterinary Nurses to join their friendly team on a permanent basis.

This started as a single vet practice in East Dulwich almost 10 years ago and they have now grown to have 3 practices with 16 Veterinary Surgeons, 10 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 6 Veterinary Care Assistants/Students and 16 Veterinary Reception/ Administration staff. They are a close team who are welcoming and enjoy working together and to a high standard. The practices all have lovely facilities and buildings, and all the usual good toys.

The team provide an excellent standard of care, for every anaesthetic they use the best drugs (only sevoflurane gas) and everything has an IV placed and gets fluids. They use a range of anaesthetic monitors, they manually chart, supervise, train, and record incidents. They review their practice and processes in a supportive way to allow them to provide the safest care for all of their patients, which hopefully means the least stress for everyone.

You can expect a friendly, welcoming, and open culture. You can also expect support and continued education/ on-the-job training, mentoring and lots of on-going (and often free!) CPD. There are added perks like your birthday off. All the staff work 1 in 3 weekends and if working a Sunday, you get a day off in lieu the following week. They offer a London Living Wage to students and a salary of up to around 32k depending on experience.

The ideal candidate will be someone with confidence in their own abilities which translates into best pet care. Someone who can work in a busy, sometimes high-pressure environment, and who can manage their time and priorities effectively and get the work done each day. Ideally you will be a Registered Veterinary Nurses but consideration can also be given to students who have completed at least one year of training.

The rota:
5 weekdays (Monday - Friday) 2 x 8-hour & 3 x 7-hour shifts = 37 hours per week
1 in 6 Saturdays: 8:30am-3:00pm
1 in 6 Saturdays: 9:00am-7:00pm
1 in 6 Sundays: 9:00am-7:00pm
To clarify this means working every third weekend; one weekend a ‘short’ Saturday and the following an ‘extended’ Saturday and Sunday. We give you a day off (8 hours) in lieu of the week after you have worked a Sunday so all this averages to 40 hours per week.

Benefits - Subject to Pro Rata
• 5 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
• 3 days paid CPD leave
• 550 CPD allowance per annum
• RCVS Membership paid
• Service based holiday entitlement increases
• VDS cover
