Experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, Buckinghamshire

Our client are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly team on a part time basis at their busy surgery.

This is a very well equipped modernised RCVS accredited practice with endoscope, laparoscopic bitch spays, ultrasound scanner, DR and CR Radiography, Class 4 Laser, 3 consult rooms and an in house lab. They have 4 surgeries across Buckinghamshire and have a team of 16 FTE Vets, 19 RVN’s, 5 SVN’s, 13 reception staff and an extensive admin team made up of Practice Manager, Team Development Manager, Admin Manager, Group Nursing Manager, Clinical Manager, Facilities and Cremations Manager, Insurance Coordinator, Office Secretary and Office Assistant. Plus a fully supportive management structure, 2 Clinical Directors and a Practice Manager. On top of this a full team of Heads of Departments running monthly catch ups.

As a practice they strongly believe in providing all team members with a nurturing and caring environment. They actively encourage and fully support team members’ professional ambitions by providing opportunities to develop with regular funded CPD. The excellent care and service that the team provide to their clients and their pets is very important to them and a big part of being able to provide this is through ensuring that the team are fully equipped with all the tools that they need, working in the best possible surroundings.

There are a number of the veterinary team either engaged in or achieved certificates in oncology, ophthalmology, physiotherapy, dentistry, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care, orthopaedics, small animal medicine, feline medicine, and dermatology. They also have members of the team with special interests in animal behaviour and dog training and of course wellbeing. As a practice they actively support several different charities both locally and nationally each year including Street Vet, Marjorie Nash Cat Rescue and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The ideal candidate will be someone who is experienced, confident, and friendly. You will be required to be competent in small animal medicine and surgery and will need to be willing to be forward thinking and self-motivated.

This is a flexible role and full or part-time working hours will be discussed as necessary. Salary will be dependent upon experience and benefits (subject to pro rata) include:
5 weeks paid holiday not including bank holidays
5 days paid CPD leave
1250 CPD Allowance per annum
Private Medical Insurance
VDS Membership paid
BVA Membership paid
Service based holiday entitlement increases
VDS cover
