Experienced Small Animal Vet for Large Practice in Beautiful Cornwall

This large practice situated in beautiful mid Cornwall, close to the Eden Project with plenty of beautiful beaches and coastline nearby, are looking for experienced small animal vets to join their team.

Made up of five small animal surgeries and a large animal department, this client provides excellent 24 hour nursing care at their main hospital site and are proud to provide their own out of hours service to their clients, priding themselves on offering a high standard of patient and client care.

They are a friendly team and have several certificate holders across the group. Two of the surgeries have ISFM silver cat friendly status and all of the surgeries have General Practice RCVS Practice Standards status.

They have 5 small animal surgeries and are looking for a vet to primarily work out of the main Lostwithiel surgery, which has recently been refurbished. They work in a supportive team environment and encourage and support you to develop your own interests. They have lots of equipment including ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental X-ray, endoscopy and tonometry and have an in house blood machine in every surgery.

The current full time vets work a 4 day week plus a share of weekends and nights. You will not be expected to work days & nights at the same time. The rota is 1 weeknight on call every 4 weeks with time off before & after to recover, 1 weekend on call in 8 (either nights or days but not both together), 1 Friday night on call in 16 and 1 Saturday morning in 4.
The holiday allowance is 5 weeks plus bank holidays p.a.

The ideal candidates will have at least 2 years experience and who would be happy to increase their case responsibility. The right applicants will be confident with excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. Developing client bonds and case continuity is very important in this role. There is clinical freedom to work up your own cases and the caseload would support studying towards a certificate. There is a generous CPD allowance.
