Experienced Small Animal Vet for Clinical Director Role - Monmouthshire

Steph Ward
This group of 4 practices, set in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside, are looking for an experienced vet looking to take the next step in their career and become Clinical Director.

This friendly team pride themselves on providing high quality care for all patients and clients and with 13 vets and 4 well equipped, RCVS accredited sites they see a varied and interesting caseload.
The current team includes certificate holders in Surgery and Medicine, plus a visiting Cardiologist, meaning they can provide fantastic case support when required. The main site is open 24-hours enabling the team to provide excellent clinical care to all in-patients and all OOH emergencies are covered by an external provider.

To be a true 'Clinical' Director you must be able to provide excellent clinical skills and have the ability to focus and mentor the team to ensure they can do the same. Experience at this level is desired, but the wider team will provide support for someone looking to take that next step in their career. It is very important to the whole team that they find the right person for their lovely team, and will provide all the necessary training and support to ensure the right candidate will have job satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will be a certificate holder or working towards one and have a real passion for clinical practice and team development.

This is a full time role, working a 4 day week, and will be mainly based at the Abergavenny site.
The weekend rota is 1 in 5 Saturdays and weekdays begin at 8.45am with the last appointment being at 18.15.

On offer for the right candidate is a generous salary of between 50k-75k, dependent upon experience. Plus RCVS + VDS membership, and one other professional subscription paid, a CPD allowance of 1750 / 5 days and certificate funding is available and encouraged. You will also be entitled to 24 days holiday + Bank Holidays, one day leave for volunteering (your choice of where), the option to buy and sell Holiday, enhanced maternity, paternity, and sick pay, pension and 24/7 access to Health Shield, the Employee Assistance Programme plus other benefits.

The local town is very well known as a foodie destination and is surrounded by amazing countryside full of opportunities for many different outdoor pursuits. City entertainment is also easily accessible with great transport links to Cardiff, Bristol, Birmingham, and London. The client catchment area includes Monmouth and Usk, which have both been Voted “best place to live” by the Sunday Times in recent years.

Accommodation is available to help with relocation, if required.
