Experienced RVN needed for Medical and Surgical Rota at Tier 3 Referral Hospital in West Yorkshire

My client are a first opinion and Tier 3 Referral Hospital based in West Yorkshire, close to Leeds, and are looking to recruit RVNs to work in their busy, fast-paced hospital.

You will be part of a large team of RVNs, SVNs and PCAs who carry out medical and surgical shifts and will work with primary care and referral vets seeing critical care / emergency cases and a varied and interesting caseload.

The working week is 40 hours on a rolling rota of shift start times between 8am and 11.30am to ensure all staff share medical and surgical shifts.
Plus 1:4 weekends on a rota (5-6 nurses on shift at any one time with PCA and reception cover provided) - you will be given a day off either side of the weekend worked. There is some Bank Holiday work shared between all RVNs.

This is a big nurse training practice with a dedicated RVN Team lead by the Clincal Coach and Education Team Lead.

The large team is split into a Medical Team; with inpatients being cared for by 2vets, 6RVN's and a Practice Nurse. A Surgical Team; with patients cared for by a large team of vets and 9-12 RVNs, an SVN and a PCA supported by a lab technician. Plus a dedicated Night Team of PCAs, RVNs and Vets who cover 22 different Veterinary practices, plus all their branches, leading for a very inteersting caseload.

The team positively encourage the develpoment of leadership opportunites with an obvious career path supported by senior staff and excellent CPD.

You will need to be positive, flexible and enthusiastic, have excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a large surgical / medical team.

You will be experienced in First Opinion practice and can expect to earn a salary dependent upon experience and ranging from 22k-26k PA plus a generous quarterly bonus, topped up with additional pay for weekends worked and double time working at a Bank Holiday.

Further qualifications are desirable but not essential and further support and training is provided should it be needed.
Relevant training is encouraged, and the team have a wide range of high quality CPD available from the wider group.
