Clinical Director required for Maternity cover near Grantham

Julie Powell
Our client who is based near Grantham is looking for a full time Clinical Director to cover a period of maternity from August 2021- May 2022.

This 100% small animal practice is well respected in the local area and is wanting to maintain that reputation and happy work environment whilst their current Clinical Director leaves to have a baby. The client has two practices which are very close to each other both within walking distance to the town centre. Both practices are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, as well as all the necessities for a first opinion practice. They also have a visiting referral orthopaedic Vet. The practice has a range of loyal clientele, which brings with it a wide and varying caseload. Many of their clients are insured which offers great opportunity to work to the standard we all strive for but there are also clients with lower incomes, so it is important to be able to adapt so that they still receive the best possible care.

They offer 15-minute consultations as a minimum, extended consults can be arranged for more complex cases. The diary is organised with plenty of room for appointments, emergency block offs/on the day appointments, breaks, catch ups and time for phone calls. Communication is a really important and integral part of the team culture; they actively encourage openness and teamwork but also give Vets the freedom to work up their own cases as they see fit.

The practice is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join them on a full-time basis as the Clinical Director. The perfect candidate will have vast experience of first opinion practice and ideally some previous management experience, although this is not essential as further training and support can be provided. The role will be mainly clinical and have just 1 day of admin work per week. You will be working with an experienced and supportive Practice Manager. The ability to mentor and develop less experienced team members would be beneficial.
