Clinical Director / Head Vet for Veterinary Hospital in Cambridgeshire

Our client in Peterborough are looking for a forward thinking, dynamic and motivated Clinical Director or Head Vet to join their team on a permanent basis.

As their current Head Vet heads back home to Australia, the team are searching for a candidate who wants to join a team in this exciting role with the shared aim of driving the Hospital forward in its journey.

This small animal hospital is well established and is open 24/7 offering a full out of hours service which the team run themselves. The team offer expertise in orthopedic surgeries and diagnostic imaging as well as routine surgeries such as neutering and dental.
A complete refurbishment of the hospital is planned, providing the team, patients and clients a fully equipped, modern hospital environment.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced and enthusiastic veterinary surgeon who is passionate about delivering high standards of care to both patients and clients. You must have strong organisational skills and be keen to continually improve your own professional knowledge with the ability to encourage similar development of colleagues and enable knowledge sharing across the team. In addition you will be someone who is respected by colleagues and clients and be happy to be a key player in the day-to-day management of the Hospital workload whilst offering support to branch colleagues.

The role as Head Vet will see you work closely with the Head Nurse in making and implementing new protocols, procedures and policies and carving out a vision for the practice, supported by the leadership team of the group.

On offer for the right candidate is a salary up to 70k dependent upon experience, 5 weeks annual holiday plus bank holidays, a minimum of 1750 and a 5 day CPD allowance - more funding is available for relevant qualifications. RCVS fees and one other professional membership fees covered plus a growing list of flexible benefits such as the ability to buy and sell annual leave

My client, located in the city of Peterborough is looking to find vets to join a 2 branch practice with 6 vets and a large team of dedicated nurses and support staff. Our client in Cambridgeshire have a team of three vets and six nurses. They are looking to add addition vet with at least two years experience to join them. Successful candidates will be happy with most routine, soft tissue surgeries and be happy to work up their own medical caseload. Support from the experienced team will always be available as well as the regular visiting specialists they have in the practice. The practice is a very well equipped small animal practice, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, multiparameter monitoring, ultrasound etc. This is a large practice with four consult rooms and a large theatre. The rota is worked over 4 days with 1 in 4 weekends. Saturday mornings and Sunday on call only. All other OOH's are covered by a local provider. A day off in lieu is planned in after weekend worked. Our client offer a generous salary dependent upon experience, 1500 CPD, VDS paid, RCVS paid, 25 days holidays.
Our client based near Peterborough is looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join their friendly team. This is a state-of-the-art building, they are an ISFM accredited practice with separate cat and dog waiting areas, wards, four consulting rooms, two theatres, a dedicated imaging suite with digital x-ray, ultrasound (including cardiac probes and doppler), endoscopy gastroscopy, rhinoscopy, etc.), a dedicated dental suite with high definition dental radiography. They also have laparoscopy, arthroscopy, ECG, multiparametric monitors, and more equipment being added regularly. The practice is also a referral practice with an advanced practitioner in surgery, a diplomate in dentistry and a visiting advanced practitioner in ophthalmology. They currently have 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses, 1 Student Veterinary Nurse and 4 Receptionists. There are two certificate holders in surgery and ophthalmology and one diplomate in dentistry working at the practice. The role involves carrying out consultations and surgery, although a consulting-only position will also be considered, any special interest in any area of veterinary medicine will be supported. The candidate will join the first opinion team and will be supported while getting used to everything, there is support available for any area of veterinary medicine and if not confident in surgery the surgeon will be available to support as needed. Any interest will be supported with training, time and most importantly, cases. If there is interest in clinical research this will also be supported. The day starts at 8:00am with admissions starting at 8:30am if doing surgery or procedures that day, and consults starting at that time if in a consults day. The time for procedures starts at 9:30am and the lunch break is 1:00pm-2:00pm. There are consultations in the afternoon are from 2:00pm until 6:30pm, with the surgery closing at 7:00pm. All cases are then transferred to VetsNow who takes care of the out-of-hours. There is a Saturday morning rota.
