Clinical director for independent brand new practice

My clients are an independent practice who are opening a brand new branch opening next year.

Already an established and growing business they seeking a Clinical director/lead vet who will look after the clinical needs of this new venture and will help the existing team to build the caseload with old and new clients in this new location, close to Manchester. The practice will be fully equipped with brand new cutting edge facilities including digital and dental X-Rays etc.

You will be a capable and confident vet, able to work autonomously, and ideally have management experience. The role is full time (40 hours) worked over 4 days 8.45-7pm with some Saturday mornings

Our client owns a group of 6 small animal practices in the Suffolk area. Due to their continuing success and for the welfare of the current team, they are looking for an additional two vets to allow a better work/life balance. The client shows a real commitment to putting the vets and nurses and their well being at the for front of what they do. The owners are currently in the process of reducing the hours that the current team are working to 40 and taking the working week to 4 days. They are looking for 2 experienced Veterinary Surgeons to join them. Support in operating can be provided but ideally the candidate will be confident and competent in performing all routine surgeries as well as procedures such as c-sections, dentals, pyometras and enterotomy/cystotomies. However, they are open to a consult only role. Certificate holders or vets with experience/interests in cardiology, medicine or surgery would be an added benefit but this is not essential. Further work towards a certificate/career progression is desired. The group strongly believe that hospitalised animals should not be transported between an out of hours provider, therefore there will be some inpatient care. This will be on a rota basis with TOIL following a weekend worked which will be a maximum of 1:4 weekends. There will be a nurse as a first point of call with the vet contacted as a back up. Ideally they are looking for full time applicants but can be flexible with regards to hours and part-time applicants would be considered. However, contribution to the weekend rota is mandatory. You will be working between the main hospital and 1 – 2 branches allowing you develop relationships with clients and their pets. The hospital typically runs with 3-4 vets per day performing a mixture of consulting and operating. The 5 branch surgeries have all been recently renovated and offer daily consultations with 1-2 routine ops mornings at the larger branches. Branch work is normally sole charge with the ability to refer cases to the hospital if needed. The group are well equipped with high quality ultrasound including cardiac probe and ECG, digital radiography, CT scanner, electrocautery and therapeutic K-laser. They have multi-parameter monitoring for anaesthetics and have a good range of surgical equipment including for all general orthopaedics. The ideal candidate will have some previous experience and although the client can accommodate a consult only vet you must be confident with sole charge. Vets are encouraged to retain their own cases to improve client communication and improve job satisfaction. The team is looking for vets who want to share their experiences with them and look to grow with the practice. Our client is a three site group, close to St Andrews who are looking for a full or part time small animal vet to join their welcoming team. The practice are seeking an experienced candidate to join them, the team is enthusiastic, and dynamic and consists of 5 vets, 6 RVNs, and 5 receptionists. The practice is well-equipped with high standard facilities including 2 surgical theatres, dental suite, digital and dental x-ray, endoscopy, new Imotek ultrasound machine and in-house lab. Our client is based in the heart of Reading is looking for an experienced small animal vet to join their team. Reading is a large town on the Thames and Kennet rivers and is known for its annual Reading outdoor music festival. There is plenty to do in the local area which allows you to really enjoy your time off. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years’ experience and be confident with consults and routine surgeries. You will be joining a team of 6 vets, 3 registered nurses and additional support staff. Our client is looking for a new experienced small animal vet to join their team near Grantham. The practice is looking for an additional vet as one of their team members is returning home to Europe. The business is also growing and due to this continued success, this is the ideal time to find a new team member. This is a full time role for approximately 40 hours per week, generally working 4.5 days but this can be a four day week if you would prefer. The practice is also open to applications from part time candidates, with shifts and hours to suit the right people. There are no OOH's, Bank Holiday's or full weekends offering an excellent work/life balance. Vets Now provides the out of hours and weekends consist of Saturdays only, on a 1 in 4 basis, with time in lieu in return. You will be joining a 4 vet team. The practice works to 15-minute consultations minimum and extended consults can be catered for, for more complex cases. The diary is organised with plenty of room for appointments, emergency block offs/on the day appointments, breaks, catch ups and time for phone calls. There is also a fairly constant stream of tea and coffee to keep you going. The practice has a range of equipment including dental machine, digital x-rays, and ultrasound. The team is friendly and supportive, and have a wide range of knowledge across the Vets and RVNs. The team pride themselves on discussing cases and sharing opinions, communication is a really important part of the day to day and they encourage openness and teamwork but also the freedom to explore your own cases as you wish. CPD is a generous allowance and encouraged for personal progression and that of the practice. The client two practices are close together but are close to the town centres. Both practices are equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, ECG, as well as all the basic necessities for a first opinion practice. They have a visiting referral orthopaedic Vet, who joins them on a need to basis to perform some surgeries for them. Both practices have a separate dog and cat ward to minimize the stress for our inpatients. They are both equipped with reasonably sized theatres and consult rooms and offer generous reception waiting areas. They have a range of loyal clients, many of which are insured which offers great opportunity to work to a high standard. There are also clients with lower incomes so it is important to be able to adapt to suit, so that they still receive the best care they can give. Overall, the clients provide an interesting and varied caseload. The role is not currently suitable for a new graduate Veterinary Surgeon, as candidates will be required to work independently without support at times. Assist veterinary surgeons with major operations. The successful candidate will hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine, be registered with the RCVS and display good routine small animal surgical and medical skills. Our client based in the Wigan area have an opportunity for a vet with some experience to join their team.
