Our client which is nestled on the banks of the Thames in Central London have a vacancy for a lead vet in their branch practice.

This role will be attractive to confident veterinary surgeons, happy to work by themselves doing their own routine surgeries and medical cases. Candidates will also be looking for a role that will allow them to take their first step in a leadership role, looking after a small team of nurses and helping to drive the practice.

Much of the usual "managerial headaches" of practice management such as recruitment, rotas, health and safety are handled by a regional support manger allowing the lead vet to focus on driving the practice through excellent client care. The vast majority of the lead vets time will be be spent being a vet.

The practice is a very well equipped first opinion practice with digital x-ray, ultrasound etc. There is also the opportunity to refer complex cases to the sister hospital with a further layer of equipment such as CT scanner.

In addition to an excellent salary upto 65k our client has a generous holiday and cpd package as well as paid proffessional memberships.

Our clients clinic is situated in a great location with fantastic transport links and open green spaces nearby. The Practice was refurbished two years ago therefore there is a top of the range ultrasound machine, digital x-ray, endoscope, ventilator, exotic ward, separate cat, and dog waiting area. There is also a large team room which is separate from the practice, giving you a quiet place to have your lunch / break. This a small but very experienced team consisting of 2 RVN's, 1 SVN, and a Receptionist. You would be working alongside a Head Veterinary Nurse, RVN and SVN, who are excited about this new opportunity and all very supportive. You will also be working alongside a supportive Practice Director who is an RVN and has been working in the industry for over 10 years. They are hugely supportive of each another and are constantly striving to improve the care they provide to clients and patients alike. They also have the help and support of a visiting specialist orthopaedic surgeon, if needed. They also support the RSPCA C4 charity for cat neutering. CPD’s are supported and encouraged. This is a varied position where you will have the opportunity to run the Practice the way you want with the support of the Practice Manager and wider team. You will be involved in managing and building the team, as well as a mixture of consults and surgery. No day is the same and you will see a varied caseload of small animals including dogs, cats, tortoises, birds and lizards, the list goes on. Work / Life balance is important to them therefore they are flexible with how many days / hours a week you would like to work and can see anything from No weekends. No OOH. The salary for this role is up to 65,000 depending on experience and there is a relocation allowance paying up to 5,000, (subject to eligibility). This practice is very busy so there is a requirement for all candidates to have around 2 years experience. All candidates must be happy with routine GP surgical and medical cases. The practice has been established for 10 years, growing to 3 sites in total, 2 sites located nearby. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join them. They have a varied caseload with the 'normal' toys - radiography, theatre, dental at all 3, Ultasound at 2 sites, dental radiography is coming at a branch next month. The client has grown the practice by focussing on looking after each other, then pets, then clients. They are a close team who pride themselves on providing excellent standards of care. They provide the safest care for patients, which hopefully means the least stress for everyone. The team is made up of 20 Vets, 12 RVNs, 10 Veterinary care assistants/ students and 17 reception/ administration staff. They have certificate holders in surgery (1), cardiology (2), internal medicine (2) and others studying medicine (2), surgery (1) and emergency (1). Additionally, they have specialists visiting and working two days a week at their hospital and two days a week at another one of the branches, they specialise in surgery and endoscopy. The ideal candidate will be a good all-rounder for routine consultation and procedures but ideally are seeking someone with a surgical bias, so would be very keen for applications from certificate holders or those studying towards a certificate. Depending on your experience and interests, more complex procedures and referrals will be part of your working week. You must be happy to work in a busy, sometimes high-pressure environment, can manage time and priorities and gets the work done each day. Relocation allowance offered for the right candidate. Salary for this role is up to 70,000 depending on experience. They are looking for a small animal vet who is capable to work in a little sole charge when required and be a confident surgeon and medical vet.
