Newly Qualified or Experienced Small Animal Vet Surgeon to start Immediately

I have an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at an independent and growing, small animal practice in Bridgend, South Wales.

The current practice team is made up of 11 vets and they are looking to increase this to 13. They have a supportive team that works hard and socialises together and they have a good mix of newly qualified vets and highly experienced vets. Therefore if you are newly qualified they have experience with training new grads and can support this exciting start to your career. They are a busy practice with a varied caseload and this has enabled some of their graduate vets to complete their PDP within a year.

For an experienced veterinary surgeon, the team can offer the opportunity to expand surgical experience through their busy and varied surgical list, gain sole charge experience at branch level and further enhance medical knowledge via their busy Tier 3 hospital ward. They can also fully support further training ambitions and certificates are encouraged.

The team work alongside certificate holders in cardiology and ophthalmology and have other vets working towards certificates and as a result they do not need to refer many cases out of practice. They also have a great team of nurses who will support you, including a head nurse, a specialist theatre nurse, 7 RVN's and 8 SVN's. This fantastic team of nurses cover 24-7 and answer the out of hour's calls - this means that you're on-call duty only involves the actual emergency work.

The team provide a full out of hours' emergency service and this is shared on a 1 in 6-night rota. Weekend coverage is 1 in 3. However, the practice believes in true work live balance and to ensure they get this balance right there are rota' d days off after OOH work and a maximum working week of 45 hours. While on call you have the support of a senior vet as back up to discuss cases, assist you and attend if required.

Competitive salary package, CPD allowance, RCVS Fees paid, 5 weeks holiday.
