I’m working with a client in Peterborough who are a friendly, multi-vet small animal practice in Cambridgeshire, offering a permanent, full-time opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon seeking a role without on-call duties.
The successful candidate would join a supportive and collaborative team, providing high-quality care to a well-established and loyal client base. The practice is well-equipped with modern facilities, including digital X-ray, ultrasound with Doppler and cardiology software, endoscopy, and a comprehensive dental suite with dental X-ray. This allows for a varied caseload and the opportunity to further develop particular clinical interests, including a more medicine-focused approach.
The role is structured as a four-day working week, with a shared rota of one in six Saturdays at the nearby hospital. There are no out-of-hours or on-call responsibilities, and part-time applications are also welcomed.
Located in Peterborough, the practice benefits from excellent transport connections, including direct rail access to London King’s Cross in around 45 minutes and proximity to Stansted Airport. The surrounding area offers a range of affordable housing options, good schools, and a balance between town and village living. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available for those who require it.
The position comes with a comprehensive benefits package designed to support both professional development and personal wellbeing. This includes private medical insurance and a health cash plan, access to 24/7 counselling services, and life assurance. Annual leave starts at five weeks plus bank holidays and increases with service. Ongoing learning is encouraged through a CPD allowance of £1,500 and three days of paid leave each year, as well as access to internal clinical communities, training resources, and funded certificate opportunities. Professional fees for RCVS, VDS, and BVA memberships are covered, and additional support such as relocation assistance and visa sponsorship.
