Veterinary Surgeon – Northampton
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a confident Veterinary Surgeon to join the dedicated team at a well-established branch practice in Northampton. This role would suit a vet who has completed their VetGDP, is comfortable with sole charge responsibilities, and enjoys building strong relationships with clients while delivering high standards of patient care.
The successful candidate will become part of a close-knit and supportive team of three colleagues who are passionate about providing exceptional care to pets and their owners within the local community. While the branch team is small, it benefits from the backing of a wider, highly experienced veterinary network, ensuring support is always available when needed.
The position offers an excellent work-life balance, with a Monday to Friday schedule and no out-of-hours commitments. Full-time hours are available, although part-time applications will also be considered for the right candidate. Working hours are structured across the week to provide consistency, with shifts between 8:30am–5:30pm and 9:00am–6:00pm.
The salary for this role ranges from £40,000 to £50,000, dependent on experience.
About the Practice
This is a respected veterinary group consisting of five branch surgeries alongside a 24-hour hospital, providing care to pets across Northamptonshire and South Leicestershire. The practice places both people and pets at the centre of everything it does, creating a collaborative and welcoming environment where colleagues are encouraged to grow and develop professionally.
The wider team enjoys a strong social culture, with opportunities to connect outside of work through events such as seasonal celebrations, summer gatherings, charity fundraising, and practice-wide activities.
The Location
Based in the thriving market town of Northampton, the practice benefits from an ideal location that blends modern amenities with picturesque countryside. Excellent transport links, including easy access to the M1 and direct rail connections, make both London and Birmingham readily accessible.
Benefits include:
Generous benefits package including 6.6 weeks’ annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, a £1,750 CPD allowance, paid professional memberships, company sick pay, and a health cash plan supporting a wide range of wellbeing treatments.
Additional support includes relocation assistance where required, temporary accommodation during relocation, enhanced family leave policies, discounted veterinary fees, employee discounts and cashback schemes, wellbeing initiatives, and genuine career development opportunities through internal training and progression pathways.
