I’m working with a long-established, RCVS GP-accredited practice located just ten minutes by tram from Manchester city centre and close to the scenic landscapes of the Peak District. And the clinic operates across four well-equipped sites.
The practice is committed to providing high-quality care for all pets and has built strong connections with both local and national charities. It holds several recognitions, including “Dogs Trust Dog Friendly” and “Fear Free Clinic” status, and is currently working towards achieving “Cat Friendly Clinic” accreditation across all locations.
A supportive and welcoming workplace culture is a key focus, with strong staff retention reflecting this environment. The clinic has also been awarded “Outstanding” by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme in the areas of Team and Professional Responsibility and Client Service. Continued investment in both team development and modern equipment ensures a consistently high standard of patient care.
The role on offer is suited to a confident veterinary surgeon eager to develop their clinical expertise while delivering excellent care to patients and their owners. The successful candidate would join a team of 11 vets with a diverse range of skills and interests, including certificate holders in dentistry and medicine, as well as others training in imaging and dermatology. A visiting orthopaedic surgeon further enhances the variety of cases seen in practice.
The position offers a salary of up to £60,000 (pro rata), depending on experience, with both full-time and part-time applications considered. A four-day working week supports a healthy work–life balance, alongside a shared Saturday rota, with no Sundays, out-of-hours work, or bank holiday commitments.
The benefits package is comprehensive and includes five weeks’ annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase additional days. A CPD allowance of £1,750 per year is provided, along with up to five days of paid leave, and certificate study is actively encouraged. Additional benefits include a health cash plan, paid RCVS membership and two further professional subscriptions, VDS cover, and enhanced family leave policies.
Employees also benefit from discounted veterinary fees, Cycle to Work scheme, and ongoing training and development support. The clinic offers company sick pay, regular engagement surveys, annual salary reviews, and a strong emphasis on wellbeing and career progression. Recognition is also given through a monthly employee award, nominated by colleagues.
