Veterinary Surgeon – Imaging Focus
I’m working with a small animal Hospital is seeking a Veterinary Surgeon with a strong interest in diagnostic imaging to join its experienced multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for a clinician who enjoys combining advanced diagnostics with first-opinion practice, offering a varied caseload within a busy 24/7 veterinary hospital.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of medical and surgical cases, with a particular emphasis on diagnostic imaging. The role includes dedicated time for ultrasound, digital radiography and CT, alongside first-opinion consulting and clinical work, providing an ideal balance between developing imaging expertise and maintaining broad clinical skills.
Applicants should be confident performing abdominal ultrasound examinations and interpreting diagnostic radiographs. A certificate in Diagnostic Imaging, or a commitment to working towards one, would be welcomed but is not essential. The practice is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon with strong clinical judgement, excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to patient care.
As a busy 24-hour hospital, they offer a diverse and rewarding caseload, supported by an experienced team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses and emergency clinicians. In addition to providing affordable first-opinion services, the hospital also delivers a range of referral procedures and emergency and critical care, creating an interesting and varied clinical environment where no two days are the same.
The position is offered on a four-day working week (40 hours), with an even split between imaging and consulting, allowing two days dedicated to diagnostic imaging and two days focused on first-opinion consultations.
Benefits include six weeks' annual leave, funded CPD, private healthcare, paid RCVS and VDS memberships, visa sponsorship where required, a contributory pension scheme, enhanced maternity and paternity benefits, up to 52 weeks' sickness benefit,
This is an excellent opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon looking to develop or further establish a career in diagnostic imaging while remaining involved in a varied and rewarding first-opinion caseload within a supportive and forward-thinking hospital environment.
