A Veterinary Surgeon is sought to join the friendly team at my clients Bolton clinic in a consulting-focused role. This position centres on delivering high-quality, accessible care to a varied caseload, largely made up of sick and injured pets, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference on a daily basis.
The practice is part of an organisation known for its supportive and inclusive culture, where collaboration is prioritised and traditional hierarchies are set aside. Every team member is encouraged to contribute to maintaining strong clinical standards and a positive working environment.
The organisation operates with a distinct ethos compared to many other veterinary providers. Its focus extends beyond profit, aiming instead to balance financial sustainability with a clear social mission. Central to this is the belief that no pet should go without treatment when a viable option exists. By offering free consultations and transparent pricing, the team works to reduce financial barriers and make veterinary care more accessible to a wider range of pet owners.
The role is typically structured around a 40-hour week, although part-time applicants are also considered. Working patterns usually consist of a four-day week, with a shared weekend commitment of approximately two in nine.
In addition to the role itself, a comprehensive benefits package is provided to support both professional development and personal wellbeing. This includes six weeks of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, funded CPD opportunities, and private healthcare alongside a sickness benefit scheme and employee assistance programme following a qualifying period. Further benefits include an enhanced family leave package, contributory pension scheme, and payment of professional fees such as RCVS and VDS. Employees also have access to counselling support covering mental health, financial, and personal matters after 12 months of service, as well as schemes such as cycle to work, electric car leasing, staff and retail discounts, and a refer-a-friend bonus.
