Veterinary surgeon vacancy - Brand new surgeries - Wigan area

My client is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to commence in November 2026 and offers a salary of £50,000 to £70,000, depending on experience. The successful candidate will manage a varied first-opinion caseload including consultations, preventative healthcare, medical cases and routine surgery, while developing lasting relationships with clients through the practice's membership model. They are preparing to open two brand-new practices in the Wigan area and is seeking founding Veterinary Surgeons to help establish the culture, clinical standards and ways of working from the very beginning. They are focused on creating outstanding first-opinion and referral practices where the needs of patients, clients and veterinary professionals are equally valued. A key part of this approach is a subscription-based model, which provides clients with predictable monthly costs while allowing Veterinary Surgeons to focus on delivering the best possible clinical care rather than having conversations driven by treatment costs. 
The purpose-built clinics have been carefully designed to support efficient workflows, outstanding patient care and a positive working environment. Significant investment has also been made in technology, equipment and systems to ensure clinical teams have the resources, information and time needed to work to the highest standards.
As a Veterinary Surgeon will have the opportunity to influence clinical protocols, patient pathways and the overall direction of the practice. Dedicated administration time is built into the working day to promote a manageable workload, while direct access to an experienced referral team and a dedicated patient transport service ensures seamless support for more complex cases requiring advanced care.
The practice encourages continual learning and clinical excellence through regular CPD, clinical audits and a collaborative team environment where ideas and innovation are welcomed. 
Alongside a competitive salary, the role includes a minimum annual CPD budget of £2,000 with protected CPD time, paid RCVS and VDS memberships, pension contributions, wellbeing support, gym subsidies and generous staff discounts for pets.
