My client based in Oldham is on the lookout for a passionate veterinary surgeon ready to take the next step in their career. If you’re someone who thrives in a busy, hands-on environment and enjoys working cases to a high clinical standard, this could be the perfect opportunity to grow your confidence and skills within a supportive, close-knit team.
The practice is expanding rapidly and is housed in a spacious, well-equipped building just off a main road, offering easy access to Manchester and plenty of on-site parking. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to deliver excellent care — from digital x-ray and ultrasound to endoscopy, an in-house lab, two theatres, a dedicated imaging room, and a large prep area. They also have two separate isolation wards for dogs and cats, each with walk-in cages that make a real difference to patient comfort and infection control.
You’ll be working alongside a committed Head Vet and a friendly team that includes two RVNs, two part-time Client Care Assistants, and one Veterinary Care Assistant. While occasional sole-charge days may crop up to cover holidays or sickness, you’ll never be without support — the nearby 24-hour hospital is always on hand for complex cases and clinical backup.
This is a full-time role across four days a week, with a fair share of weekends on a rotating basis. It’s ideally suited to someone with one to two years of UK experience who’s looking to build their clinical confidence in a practice that values teamwork, growth, and high standards of care.
They believe in looking after people as well as patients. That’s why they offer private medical insurance and a health cash plan from day one, covering dental, physio and optical services, plus 24/7 access to a private GP. You’ll also benefit from life assurance at three times your salary, 24-hour counselling support, and a generous holiday allowance — starting at five weeks plus bank holidays and rising to six weeks with length of service and support your development with a £1,500 CPD budget and three days’ paid leave, plus access to internal CPD and Clinical Communities. They’ll cover your VDS, RCVS and BVA fees, offer funded certificate opportunities, and provide sabbatical options based on service and support for Tier 2 Visa sponsorship and relocation.
If you’re ready to join a practice with ambition, heart, and plenty of room to grow, we’d love to hear from you. For more information or an informal chat, see below
