Veterinary Surgeon – New Hospital Opening in South Wales
My client is preparing for the exciting launch of a brand-new veterinary hospital on the outskirts of Newport providing high-quality veterinary services to the communities of the surrounding areas. The hospital is expected to open its doors in early 2027 and will offer a modern, accessible environment for both clients and veterinary professionals.
This is an independently owned, Company dedicated to providing affordable, compassionate, and high-quality veterinary care. The new hospital will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, delivering continuous patient care and emergency services while supporting local pet owners and the wider veterinary community.
The organisation helps remove financial barriers that can prevent owners from seeking timely veterinary advice. Combined with transparent, packaged pricing, this approach creates a varied and rewarding caseload, providing excellent opportunities for veterinary professionals to develop their clinical skills and manage a wide range of cases.
The team is looking for like-minded Veterinary Surgeons who share their values and are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of pets and their owners. The role offers a balanced mix of surgical and consulting work, allowing clinicians to enjoy variety within their working week while continuing to grow their experience.
The Role
The position offers a 40-hour working week across a four-day rota, with a weekend commitment of 1 in 9. The successful candidate will become part of a forward-thinking team within a newly established hospital, contributing to the development of a service built around affordability, accessibility, and exceptional patient care.
They provide comprehensive benefits package, including six weeks of annual leave, enhanced sickness benefits, private healthcare following a qualifying period, and payment of RCVS and VDS fees.
Additional benefits include visa sponsorship where applicable, a cycle-to-work scheme, an electric vehicle scheme, a contributory pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution, enhanced maternity and paternity packages, an employee assistance programme, and funded CPD opportunities to support ongoing professional development.
