Surgical Registered Veterinary Nurse – No weekends
This hospital is looking to recruit a confident and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its specialist-led referral surgery team. Based on the edge of the Wirral and close to Chester, this is an excellent opportunity for a nurse with a passion for surgery and anaesthesia to develop their skills within a busy referral environment, working alongside highly experienced clinicians while maintaining an excellent work-life balance with a four-day working week and no weekend commitments.
The successful candidate will become part of a dedicated theatre team, working closely with Diplomate-level surgical specialists, RCVS Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Surgery and an experienced team of referral nurses. The role is primarily theatre based and offers exposure to a diverse and rewarding surgical caseload, making it ideal for a nurse who enjoys anaesthesia and perioperative patient care. Candidates should be confident working within a theatre setting and either hold, or be interested in pursuing, a certificate in anaesthesia or surgical nursing.  While previous referral experience would be advantageous, comprehensive support and ongoing development will be provided for the right candidate.
Applicants should be RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurses with strong knowledge of anaesthesia, surgical nursing and theatre practice. Previous referral nursing experience or a certificate in Veterinary Surgical Nursing or Anaesthesia would be beneficial but is not essential. Above all, the practice is looking for an individual with excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The position is offered on a full-time basis, working 40 hours over four days (8:00am–6:30pm), with no weekend or out-of-hours commitments.
benefits package includes:  six weeks' annual leave inclusive of bank holidays, fully funded CPD, paid RCVS and VDS fees, enhanced maternity and paternity benefits, contributory pension, up to 52 weeks' sickness benefit
This is an outstanding opportunity for a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking to advance their career in referral surgery, working alongside recognised specialists within a supportive and purpose-driven organisation committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
