My Client in Crawley expanding its team and is looking to welcome experienced Veterinary Surgeons to its recently opened practice. Following the successful launch of the purpose-built branch last year, the practice is recruiting for both a full-time Veterinary Surgeon and additional weekend vets. Flexible weekend opportunities are available, whether candidates are seeking regular Saturday work or occasional Sunday shifts to complement an existing role, with a tailored approach to scheduling that supports individual lifestyles.
Crawley joins 3 other the established practices across the region, each offering its own clinical strengths while working collaboratively across the group. The modern Crawley hospital has been designed across four floors and provides dedicated waiting areas, consultation rooms and wards for canine, feline and exotic patients. The practice is exceptionally well equipped, featuring two operating theatres with laparoscopic facilities, a dedicated dental suite with dental radiography, digital X-ray, a Siemens CT scanner, an in-house MiLab laboratory and even specialist facilities for tortoise hibernation.
The full-time position involves a 40-hour week across eight-hour shifts, with a varied workload including consultations, surgery and inpatient care. The weekend commitment is limited to one in four weekends with time off in lieu, while Bank Holiday duties are shared fairly and attract enhanced pay. The role would particularly suit a Veterinary Surgeon with an interest in small animal medicine, surgery or diagnostic imaging.
Applicants should be RCVS registered and have a few years' small animal experience. Confidence with routine surgical procedures and consultations is essential, along with excellent communication skills, a collaborative approach and a genuine commitment to delivering outstanding patient and client care. Experience as a VetGDP Adviser would be welcomed but is not essential.
A competitive salary is available from £45,000 FTE upwards, depending on experience, together with the opportunity to earn an annual discretionary bonus of up to 5% based on practice performance. The comprehensive benefits package includes five weeks' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with length of service, and the option to purchase an additional week's holiday. Professional fees for RCVS, VDS and one further veterinary membership are covered, while a generous CPD allowance supports continued professional development and certificate study. Additional benefits include enhanced maternity and paternity pay, salary sacrifice health insurance and paid 30-minute lunch breaks, with lunch provided by the practice on Saturdays.
