Salary: £50,000 – £70,000 (DOE) | Flexible Hours | No OOH
Are you an experienced vet looking for a new opportunity in a thriving, well-equipped practice with a genuinely supportive team? This friendly small animal practice is looking for a passionate veterinary surgeon to join us and be part of something special.
This practice deliver exceptional veterinary care with warmth, compassion, and clinical excellence. Their clients trust them with comprehensive workups and are committed to their pets’ long-term health, giving you the chance to fully engage in meaningful, rewarding cases. With a busy, varied caseload and a collaborative team behind you, you’ll be well supported to do your best work every day.
Meet the Team
You’ll be joining a highly experienced and welcoming group of 9 vets and 9 qualified RVNs, alongside trainee nurses and a friendly, capable front-of-house team. Many of the clinicians are pursuing certificates, and they actively support further learning, encouraging each team member to explore their areas of interest and develop professionally.
Facilities
Recently renovated, purpose-built practice is fully equipped with digital X-ray, ultrasound, in-house lab facilities, and separate wards for dogs, cats, and isolation patients. Around 30% of clients are insured, meaning you’ll have the time and resources to work cases up properly and deliver the highest standards of care.
Looking for a vet with at least three years of experience, strong medical and surgical skills, and a continued enthusiasm for learning and clinical development. Most importantly, they want someone who genuinely cares about their patients, values building client relationships, and enjoys working as part of a close-knit team. You’ll handle mainly consults with at least one dedicated operating day each week.
Work-Life Balance That Works
They believe that great clinical work starts with a healthy work-life balance. The ideal candidate will work 40 hours per week, but they are happy to consider part-time options to suit your lifestyle. Shifts typically run from 8am–6pm or 10am–8pm, with only one late shift per week. You’ll also only work one weekend per month (Saturday 9am–6pm and Sunday 10am–4pm). There’s no out-of-hours work and no sole charge.
What You’ll Receive
They offer a competitive salary of £50,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, along with generous CPD support, including funding for certificates or additional qualifications. You’ll enjoy true clinical freedom, paid memberships (RCVS, VDS, BVA, ISFM), and a great working environment with loyal clients and a supportive, friendly team.
