A well-established small animal practice in central London is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its growing and supportive team on a full-time basis. The practice has expanded significantly in recent years and offers the opportunity to be part of a motivated, caring, and forward-thinking environment.
Located near London Bridge station, the practice benefits from a highly accessible central location with excellent transport links and the added convenience of free parking. The facilities are modern, purpose-built, and designed to a high standard, featuring a wide range of advanced equipment. This includes digital X-ray, ultrasound, an in-house laboratory, blood pressure monitoring, dental equipment for multiple species, tonometry, cautery and suction systems, dental X-ray, and a high-spec ultrasound machine with multiple probes, supporting a high level of clinical care.
The team places strong emphasis on maintaining excellent standards while supporting the development and interests of its staff. Several team members have already achieved additional qualifications in areas such as ophthalmology and small animal medicine, and regular in-house training sessions are provided. The varied caseload offers ongoing opportunities for professional growth, and the practice has previously been recognised through nominations in the Petplan Veterinary Awards, including categories such as Practice of the Year and Vet of the Year.
The role is suited to a Veterinary Surgeon with at least 18 months of experience who is confident in routine surgical procedures. Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for the profession are essential, along with a desire to continue developing clinically while working collaboratively within a like-minded team. The successful candidate would join a well-structured team consisting of four vets, a skilled nursing team, client care advisors, and a practice manager, all focused on delivering excellent care to both patients and clients.
This is a full-time position based on a 40-hour working week, including one in four Saturdays, with no out-of-hours commitments, allowing for a healthy work–life balance.
In return, the role offers a competitive salary ranging from £45,000 to £70,000 depending on experience, along with a relocation package if required. Additional benefits include a generous CPD allowance with support for further certifications, paid professional memberships, a contributory pension scheme, and access to a range of employee discounts across retail and hospitality. The practice also promotes a friendly and inclusive working culture where team members feel supported in both their professional and personal development.
