Small Animal Vet Surgeon - West Sussex

My client in West Sussex is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its established team at the East Grinstead practice. Accredited as both an ISFM Gold Standard Cat Friendly Clinic and an RCVS Practice Standards Scheme Small Animal General Practice, the clinic offers an excellent opportunity for a vet who is passionate about delivering high-quality patient care within a supportive independent practice.

This approach has helped build a loyal and experienced team, with many staff members having remained with the practice for a number of years.
The practice has been designed with both patient care and team wellbeing in mind. Veterinary Surgeons can choose between eight or ten-hour shifts, with protected administration time built into the working day. Standard consultations are scheduled for 15 minutes, while additional time is allocated for more complex appointments and euthanasia consultations, ensuring clinicians have the time they need to provide the highest standard of care. Dedicated overnight nursing support is available five nights each week to care for hospitalised patients.
This role offers a salary between £50,000 and £65,000 FTE, depending on experience, with an average one in six Saturday rota. Saturday shifts and any overtime worked are returned as time off in lieu, helping to maintain an excellent work-life balance. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced team of Veterinary Nurses and colleagues who work collaboratively to deliver outstanding clinical care.
The benefits package includes payment of RCVS and VDS fees, together with one additional professional membership, such as BSAVA. A generous CPD allowance is provided, with full support available for those wishing to undertake certificates or further qualifications. Employees also receive five weeks' annual leave plus Bank Holidays, with additional holiday entitlement increasing with length of service and the option to purchase extra leave. Private medical insurance is available through a salary sacrifice scheme.
