An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join a thriving and progressive veterinary group with practices in the outer Glasgow area. As the practice continues to grow, invest in its facilities, and expand its clinical services, this is an ideal time for a veterinary professional to become part of a supportive and forward-thinking team.
The practice has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient care while fostering a collaborative and enjoyable working environment. Across its two sites, the team includes 17 veterinary surgeons, supported by experienced nurses, animal care assistants, reception teams, and dedicated management staff. Clinical Directors and Senior Vets remain actively involved in day-to-day clinical work, creating a culture where mentorship, teamwork, and shared expertise are at the heart of the practice.
The group offers access to a broad range of clinical services and specialist expertise. Ophthalmology referrals are led by a Clinical Director holding an ophthalmology certificate, while acupuncture services are available through a certified practitioner, with further accreditation planned within the team. One branch provides laparoscopic procedures, hosts regular visits from a veterinary sonographer, and runs monthly cardiology clinics, ensuring a varied and interesting caseload for clinicians.
Significant investment is currently being made across both sites. A major refurbishment and extension project is due to commence, creating a modern clinical environment with dedicated operating theatres, an expanded preparation area, a dental suite, dedicated imaging facilities, additional consultation rooms, enhanced laboratory space, and separate waiting areas for feline patients, extensive improvements to the wards, kennels, cattery and isolation facilities are already underway, further strengthening the group's commitment to delivering outstanding patient care.
The practice places a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing and work-life balance. Regular wellbeing initiatives, including weekly "Wellness Wednesdays", provide opportunities for colleagues to relax, socialise, and participate in activities ranging from crafts and bingo to wellbeing workshops. Team spirit is further strengthened through regular social events, including an annual curling night and a joint Christmas celebration for both practices.
Work-life balance is a genuine priority, with a rota designed to support time away from work. Following a week on call, veterinary surgeons benefit from a full week off, allowing ample opportunity to rest, recharge, and enjoy life outside the practice.
You will have access to an extensive network of clinical specialists, learning resources, and career development opportunities. Generous CPD support is available, and the practice actively encourages individuals to pursue their professional interests and develop their careers.
The team is keen to hear from veterinary surgeons who are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, enjoy working collaboratively, and are looking to join a practice that invests heavily in both its people and facilities. Flexible working arrangements are available, enabling the successful candidate to shape a role that works for both their professional aspirations and personal lifestyle.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an award-winning organisation that combines clinical excellence, ambitious growth plans, and a genuinely supportive team culture.
