Veterinary Surgeon – Consulting Vet 
My client in Cheshire is looking to welcome a Veterinary Surgeon to its team in a consulting-focused position. This is an excellent opportunity for a vet who enjoys first-opinion practice and wants to work within a hospital environment where there is also exposure to referral cases and 24-hour care.
The team provides around-the-clock veterinary services and benefits from a varied caseload across both first opinion and referral work. The successful candidate will join a supportive group of veterinary professionals who are passionate about delivering high standards of patient care while ensuring clients receive accessible and compassionate support.
This practice offer something different from the traditional veterinary model. Its focus is firmly centred on improving animal welfare rather than maximising profits. The organisation was established around the belief that financial circumstances should not prevent pets from receiving appropriate veterinary treatment. The position is based around a 40-hour week over four days, with a 2:9 weekend rota and participation in the shared Bank Holiday rota. Part-time working arrangements can also be considered for the right candidate.
A comprehensive benefits package accompanies the role, including six weeks' annual leave inclusive of Bank Holidays, funded CPD, private healthcare and a contributory pension scheme with a 4% employer contribution. RCVS and VDS fees are covered, while enhanced maternity and paternity benefits are also available.
Additional support includes up to 52 weeks of sickness cover, access to counselling services covering mental health, financial and lifestyle matters after 12 months' service, Visa sponsorship is available where applicable.
