This Referrals practice is part of a well-established Veterinary Group, and is seeking an Advanced Practitioner in Dermatology to join its respected referral team. The group is a progressive small animal practice providing first opinion, referral, and emergency services across South Manchester and Stockport, with a strong focus on delivering outstanding patient and client care.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and supportive environment alongside a team of referral clinicians, dedicated night vets, and experienced registered veterinary nurses. The successful candidate would be responsible for managing a varied and busy dermatology caseload, requiring the confidence and expertise to handle referral cases independently. Working within an Advanced Practitioner-led, multidisciplinary hospital, the role also involves close collaboration with other referral departments, particularly in soft tissue surgery and medicine, with additional support from a dedicated referrals coordinator.
The position is full-time, typically covering hours from 8:45am to 6:45pm, although there is flexibility to consider part-time arrangements. Strong communication skills, enthusiasm, and the ability to work effectively within a team are essential. The salary starts from £55,000 per annum and is dependent on experience.
The hospital is modern and well-equipped, featuring facilities such as an on-site CT scanner, video otoscopy and blue light therapy, a dedicated dermatology consulting room with microscope, fully equipped theatres, endoscopy, and round-the-clock hospitalisation capabilities. It is located in an attractive area with easy access to the Peak District and Lake District, as well as excellent transport links to central Manchester.
A comprehensive benefits package is offered, including 6.6 weeks of paid holiday including bank holidays and an annual CPD allowance of £1,750. Additional benefits include contributions towards health and wellbeing treatments, payment of RCVS membership along with two additional subscriptions, and VDS cover. Enhanced family leave policies are provided, alongside discounted veterinary fees, access to a wide range of retail and lifestyle discounts, and a cycle-to-work scheme. The practice also supports ongoing training and career development, offers company sick pay, conducts regular engagement surveys, and provides annual pay reviews, with a continued focus on employee wellbeing and progression opportunities.
