An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a practice in Rotherham as a senior Vet. This role is ideally suited to a veterinary professional with at least three years of UK small animal practice experience who is passionate about delivering outstanding clinical care while supporting and developing colleagues. It is an excellent next step for a Vet looking to move into leadership. Working closely with the Head Vet, the successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining high clinical standards across the practice. Alongside providing exceptional preventative healthcare, diagnosing and treating medical and surgical cases, they will help mentor the veterinary team, encourage professional development, and contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice. Strong communication skills, a collaborative approach, and a genuine enthusiasm for coaching others are essential.
The position is ideally based around four fixed working days each week with participation in a 1 in 4 weekend rota. Flexible working options are also available to support a healthy work-life balance.
The practice is a purpose-built, modern practice offering an excellent working environment and a supportive multidisciplinary team committed to delivering the highest standards of patient and client care. Many team members are pursuing postgraduate certificates across a variety of disciplines, creating a culture that values continuous learning, collaboration, and clinical excellence. The surgery is equipped with excellent facilities, including nine consultation rooms, four operating theatres, dedicated dental and ultrasound suites, a 128-slice CT scanner, separate dog and cat wards, and multiple preparation areas, enabling the team to manage a broad and varied caseload.
In return, a comprehensive benefits package is offered, including enhanced family leave, funded professional memberships, a generous CPD allowance with support for certificates, leadership development opportunities, income protection, an electric car scheme, employee wellbeing support, staff discounts, regular bonus and 25 days' annual leave plus bank holidays.
