Our client is a successful corporate practice who very much have a family feel and is run on an individual basis. Due to their continued success they are now looking for a Senior Small Animal Vet to join the team.

This is a growing practice with great facilities including 4 consult rooms, cat ward, dog ward, operating theatre, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and access to endoscope if needed. Working alongside the wonderful nurse team, they have 3 vets, 4 RVN's, a Head RVN and a student VN. One of the vets has an imaging certificate and the client is keen support your interests moving forward. The clinical team, work closely a neighboring site and routinely have clinical meetings where cases are discussed. The team feel like an experienced GP vet with an interest in leadership, would complement their interests, whilst ensuring there is the development and progression of the younger vet team. This role would provide the successful candidate with a career opportunity to take the step into a group who are focused on a high-quality first opinion service, whilst progressing their leadership/managerial skills.

This role would be suitable for someone who is a confident general practitioner but has a keen interest in developing themselves as a leader, taking on some managerial responsibilities within the clinic . You will be fully supported by the experienced Clinical Director.  They are keen to consider full time and part-time applicants, with a share of Saturday mornings (0830-1230 TOIL given for each weekend worked). Out of hours is provided by Vets Now.

To contribute to the management, organisation, and financial performance of the practice by working collaboratively with the Practice Director and Clinic Director. 
  • To provide support, leadership and guidance to colleagues, both vets and nurses alike and promote team development.
  • To contribute to discussions and meetings on the management of the practice as required by the Clinical Director
  • To be fully responsible for the safety of the clients and staff within the practice when animals are being treated or handled.
  • To understand and comply with your legal obligations in relation to the prescription, safekeeping and supply of Veterinary medicinal products.
  • Ensure the security of the premises when leaving.
  • Treat all colleagues and clients with courtesy and respect.
  • Ensure effective communication between all team members
  • To maintain personal CPD as per RCVS guidelines.
  • As the Senior Vet you will deputise for the Clinical Director when the Clinical Director is absent.
The salary for this role is up to £71k depending on experience and there is a relocation allowance of up to £5k if required..
