Saturday vet
My West London client is seeking an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly, supportive, and well-established team. Located in the borough of Hounslow, the practice benefits from a diverse caseload and a loyal client base, providing an excellent environment for a clinician looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a positive work-life balance.
The purpose-built practice is equipped to a high standard, featuring digital radiography, ultrasound, separate wards for dogs, cats and exotic species, and comprehensive in-house laboratory facilities. The bright, spacious, and air-conditioned environment supports both exceptional patient care and team wellbeing.
The successful candidate will work alongside an experienced Partner who qualified in 2006 and has successfully grown the practice since 2020. They will become part of a stable and collaborative team comprising three veterinary surgeons, four registered veterinary nurses, a student veterinary nurse, a veterinary care assistant, and five receptionists. The highly skilled nursing team plays an active role in case management and is trained to undertake Schedule 3 procedures. Close collaboration with neighbouring  practices also provides access to advanced services, including cardiac ultrasound and complex surgical procedures performed on-site by a certificate holder.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and proactive Veterinary Surgeon with solid experience in routine consultations and surgery. They will be committed to delivering outstanding patient and client care, enjoy working collaboratively, and embrace the variety that general practice offers.
This position is ideally suited to a Veterinary Surgeon available to work Saturdays from 9am to 6pm, with the possibility of additional weekday shifts if desired. Flexible part-time arrangements will also be considered. While most shifts will be worked alongside one or two veterinary colleagues, occasional sole-charge responsibilities may be required.
This offers excellent transport links, situated approximately 30 minutes from Central London by train, less than 15 minutes from the M25, M3 and M4 motorways, and only two miles from Heathrow Airport. The practice also benefits from ample parking, local amenities, and easy access to the green spaces of Surrey and Middlesex.
In return, the practice offers a competitive salary of up to £70,000 FTE (dependent on experience and hours worked), 4 weeks' annual leave plus bank holidays increasing to 5 weeks after two years' service, a contributory pension scheme, generous CPD support including certificate funding for the right candidate, and payment of professional memberships including RCVS, BVA and VDS
