This wonderfully inclusive and team orientated client are looking for full/part-time veterinary surgeons to join their busy small animal practice near Taunton.
This well-established practice have their main premises in Taunton and a smaller branch in a nearby town. Taunton is a thriving town within easy reach of the coast, as well as Exmoor and the Quantocks, whilst also being conveniently placed for access to the M5 and nearby cities of Exeter and Bristol.
The practice is fully equipped for small animal first opinion work, and the team are constantly improving and upgrading their clinical facilities to provide the highest standard of care for their patients. With an emphasis on integrity, communication, and kindness, this dedicated team of six vets, five registered veterinary nurses, and twelve support staff all work closely together to provide exemplary care for all patients and clients. As a team, they believe in actively supporting and encouraging each other to build confidence, develop skills, and pursue interests in a calm and professional environment. They work with many local and national charities, including doing some work for our local RSPCA wildlife centre and holding events to raise funds for a variety of causes. All team members also take the time to engage with the local community by giving talks at local schools and holding open days.
The veterinary team operates on scheduled tasks with everyone having a chance to develop their skills and interests. Days consist of a variety of surgical work, lab work, clinical investigation, imaging, and dental work. They also run 15-minute consultations throughout the day, ensuring you have plenty of time for admin tasks, client phone calls, lab reporting, general case investigation, and discussion!
The full-time vets work four weekdays per week (opening hours 9am – 7pm) and a maximum of 1:4 weekends (Saturday 8.30am-1pm in practice and 1pm-7pm on call, Sunday 8.30am-7pm on call) on a rota basis. Night cover is provided by OOH provider and the team happy to consider flexible working patterns for part-time candidates. We are happy to consider qualified candidates with all levels of experience whether you are just finding your feet in practice, returning after a break, or simply looking for a new challenge in an engaging and supportive environment.
The salary is up to £75,000 depending on experience, plus a welcome bonus of £5k and a relocation allowance of up to £5k if required.
