An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse (RVN) to join a friendly and close-knit team consisting of three vets, two RVNs, one Student Veterinary Nurse (SVN), and a receptionist. The practice places patient care and client satisfaction at the heart of everything it does, fostering a supportive environment where teamwork and collaboration ensure the highest standards of veterinary care.
This is a busy and rewarding position that offers excellent variety, with no two days being the same. The successful candidate will enjoy a balance of routine nursing responsibilities alongside more complex procedures, while contributing to the practice’s reputation for warm, compassionate, and welcoming nurse consultations. The practice is well equipped with a spacious operating theatre, digital x-ray facilities, and advanced ultrasound technology, enabling the team to provide outstanding clinical care.
Located in a leafy suburb of South Liverpool, the practice offers an excellent working environment within a vibrant and well-connected local community.
The role is based on a 40-hour working week across five days. Weekend commitments include either 1 in 4 Saturdays or 1 in 8 full weekends, with time off in lieu provided. The position also includes one bank holiday shift per year and up to two weeks of on-call duties annually.
In this role, the RVN will take responsibility for delivering high-quality nurse-led consultations while supporting veterinary surgeons with procedures as required. A strong commitment to exceptional care for clients, patients, and colleagues is essential, alongside maintaining high regulatory, clinical, and operational standards.
The practice recognises that career development extends beyond day-to-day responsibilities and offers a comprehensive benefits package to support professional growth and wellbeing. This includes a Health Cash Plan, 24/7 counselling and wellbeing support, life assurance at three times salary, and generous annual leave entitlement, including five weeks’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service. £750 CPD funding with two days of paid leave each year, access to internal CPD and clinical communities, support from 24-hour hospitals, and funded certificates with clear internal career progression pathways.
