Registered Veterinary Nurse – Lancaster
My client in Lancaster is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Registered Veterinary Nurse to join its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced RVN looking for their next challenge or a newly qualified nurse beginning their veterinary nursing career.
The practice is proud to offer a welcoming, inclusive and diverse working environment where every member of the team is valued and supported. With a team of 22 colleagues, including a Clinical Director, Lead Vet, Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses, Veterinary Care Assistants, management and Front of House Advisors, the successful candidate will become part of a collaborative and well-established practice.
The surgery is purpose-built, fully air-conditioned and RCVS accredited, offering modern facilities designed to provide a high standard of care for patients. Separate wards are available for dogs, cats, exotic patients and isolation cases, helping to create a calm and appropriate environment for a wide range of animals.
The practice is well equipped with advanced diagnostic and surgical facilities, including laparoscopy, video otoscopy, ultrasound, digital X-ray, dental X-ray and Imagyst Cytology. The team also has strong orthopaedic capabilities and carries out the majority of first-opinion orthopaedic procedures on site, with more complex cases referred to specialist
Located close to local bus and rail links, the practice also benefits from being less than 30 minutes from the Lake District, offering plenty of opportunities to enjoy the surrounding countryside and maintain a positive work-life balance.
This is a part-time position working 27 hours per week, with a 1 in 4 weekend rota. There are no out-of-hours duties or overnight inpatient checks.
The successful candidate will have good general nursing skills, a genuine commitment to animal welfare and a strong focus on delivering excellent client care. The team is looking for someone who is approachable, enthusiastic and down-to-earth, with the ability to build positive relationships with both clients and colleagues.
In return, they can offer a competitive salary of £30,000 to £35,000 pro rata, depending on experience, alongside generous and fully supported CPD. Opportunities are available to pursue individual clinical interests, including funded certificates, making this an excellent role for a nurse keen to continue developing their skills and career within a supportive practice.
