My client in Oxford are keen to find a Head Veterinary Nurse, who can take the lead in delivering exceptional clinical standards while supporting and developing the nursing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse who enjoys combining hands-on nursing with leadership responsibilities in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Working closely with the veterinary team, the Head Nurse will oversee nurse-led consultations, Schedule 3 procedures, surgical support and inpatient care, ensuring patients receive the highest standard of treatment throughout their journey. They will also play a key role in maintaining regulatory compliance, promoting best practice and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the clinical team.
Alongside their clinical responsibilities, the successful candidate will provide guidance, mentorship and encouragement to the nursing team, helping colleagues develop their skills and confidence while fostering a positive and motivated working culture. Strong communication skills and a passion for delivering outstanding client care will be essential, as will the ability to inspire others and lead by example.
The practice welcomes applications from experienced RCVS Registered Veterinary Nurses who are already in a leadership role or those ready to take the next step in their career. A genuine commitment to patient welfare, team development and clinical excellence is key.
In return, they can offer an excellent range of benefits designed to support both professional growth and personal wellbeing. These include 24/7 wellbeing and counselling support, Life Assurance, five weeks' annual leave plus Bank holidays. Professional development is actively encouraged, with a £750 CPD allowance and two days of paid CPD leave annually, funded certificate opportunities and clear career progression. Additional benefits include paid RCVS and VDS memberships
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated nurse looking to lead a dedicated team while continuing to deliver outstanding patient care in a practice that values collaboration, development and clinical excellence.
