Veterinary Surgeon –Richmond 24-Hour Hospital
Richmond, South West London | Full-time, 40 hours/week | 1 in 6 weekends
My client are looking for a passionate and experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a collaborative team at their Richmond 24-Hour Hospital. If you’re ready to take on a diverse, hands-on role within a fully equipped, accredited hospital, this could be the ideal next step in your career.
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week), with a 1 in 6 weekend rota. You’ll be part of a busy 24-hour hospital team managing a wide range of cases – from routine consultations and surgeries to complex medical and surgical workups. With in-house CT, ultrasound, digital x-ray, endoscopy, and full lab capabilities, you’ll have the tools and support needed to fully manage your cases in-house.
They’d love to hear from you if you’re a confident GP vet with at least two years of UK experience. An interest in internal medicine or ultrasonography is a bonus, but not essential.
You’ll be joining a well-established, friendly, and supportive team of 7 day vets, 3 night vets, 6 day RVNs, 2 night RVNs, student nurses, PCAs, and CCAs – many of whom have been with the practice for over a decade. They are an RCVS-accredited Small Animal Hospital with ECC accreditation, and a nurse training and graduate vet development.
Surgical capability is strong here, with proficiency in laparoscopic procedures, advanced soft tissue surgeries (BOAS, thyroidectomy, entropion repair, anal gland removal), and orthopaedics (TPLO, fracture repair, patella luxation, FHNE).
The Richmond location offers a fantastic balance of city and nature, just a short walk from Kew Gardens and Richmond Park. The area is well-connected by public transport and offers easy access to the M3 and M4. Free parking is available nearby.
Whether you're looking to deepen your clinical skills, work alongside a talented team, or contribute to the development of future veterinary professionals, they’d love to hear from you.
