A full-time qualified Head Veterinary Nurse is sought to join a friendly and professional team at a small animal practice in Slough. The practice has a well-established client base of over 1,300 active clients and holds accreditation as a cat-friendly clinic, reflecting its commitment to high standards of care.
The clinic is well equipped, offering two consultation rooms, dedicated space for nurse-led clinics, and on-site x-ray facilities. In addition, there is access to advanced diagnostic tools such as MRI, CT, ultrasound, endoscopy, and ECG. Out-of-hours care is supported by a nearby 24-hour hospital in Watford, ensuring continuity and quality of care for patients at all times.
The location offers an appealing mix of countryside surroundings and convenient transport links. London is approximately an hour away, and Heathrow Airport can be reached in just 10 minutes. Situated next to Langley Park and within easy reach of historic attractions such as Windsor Castle,
The role follows a four-day working week, with participation in a weekend rota of one in six at the Watford 24-hour hospital
In addition to the role itself, a comprehensive benefits package is offered to support wellbeing, development, and career progression. This includes a health cash plan from day one, access to 24/7 counselling and wellbeing services, and life assurance at three times salary. Annual leave begins at five weeks plus bank holidays and increases with length of service, alongside an additional paid “Day for You.”
Professional growth is encouraged through a CPD allowance of £750 and two days of paid CPD leave each year, as well as access to clinical communities, internal training, and 24-hour hospital resources. Funded certificates and clear career pathways are available, and professional fees for RCVS, VDS, and BVA are fully covered.
