An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a recently refurbished practice in Whitchurch, offering the chance to take genuine ownership of a caseload while developing clinical and surgical interests in a highly supportive environment.
This role is particularly suited to a vet with a strong surgical focus who is looking to build and shape their own caseload. With a high level of clinical autonomy, the successful candidate will have the freedom to manage cases in their own way while continuing to enhance their surgical expertise. The practice actively supports professional growth through funded CPD, further qualifications, and a collaborative team environment that encourages progression.
The practice itself has recently undergone refurbishment and provides a bright, modern working environment just a short walk from the train station. Facilities include three consultation rooms, a spacious theatre and prep area, ultrasound and dental equipment, as well as separate waiting areas for cats and dogs to ensure a calm and comfortable experience for patients and owners alike.
The position offers a four-day working week with one in three Saturdays and no out-of-hours commitments, supporting a healthy work-life balance. The emphasis is firmly placed on clinical freedom and long-term caseload development, allowing the successful vet to shape the role around their own ambitions and areas of interest.
In return, an extensive benefits package is offered to support both professional and personal wellbeing. Private medical insurance, a health cash plan, life assurance, and access to 24/7 counselling and wellbeing services. Annual leave starts at five weeks plus bank holidays and increases with service.
Professional development is a key priority, with a £1,500 CPD allowance, three days of paid CPD leave annually, access to internal clinical communities, 24-hour hospital support, and funded certificates available. Additional benefits include paid RCVS, VDS and BVA fees, relocation support, visa sponsorship where required
This is an ideal role for a Veterinary Surgeon seeking a supportive and welcoming team, genuine clinical autonomy, and the opportunity to develop a rewarding, long-term career while making the position truly their own.
