My client in Congleton is looking to recruit a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its dedicated and friendly team. This full-time position is structured over four days per week, with additional participation in a shared Saturday rota of two mornings in every eleven, working between 9:00am and 1:00pm. The practice operates daily from 8:30am to 6:30pm, and the role involves a balanced mix of consultations and surgical duties within these hours. There are no out-of-hours or bank holiday commitments associated with the position.
The successful candidate would work alongside three other small animal vets, supported by an experienced team of registered veterinary nurses, auxiliary nurses, and reception staff. As part of a wider network of practices within the group, there is also occasional collaboration across sites for weekend cover.
This opportunity would suit a veterinary surgeon with experience in a busy first-opinion small animal environment who is keen to be part of a committed and supportive team while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.
In return, the practice offers a competitive salary of up to £60,000 for an experienced vet, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This includes a workplace pension scheme, reimbursement of RCVS membership and VDS cover, and a generous CPD allowance of £1,750, with additional support available for those pursuing certificates. Professional development is actively encouraged, with funding provided for further qualifications. Additional benefits include enhanced sick pay and parental leave, options to buy or sell holiday, a cycle-to-work scheme, staff discounts for pets, a wellbeing programme, and access to an in-house referral hospital and dedicated out-of-hours team.
