Our client’s clinic is part of the larger group of 9 branches that have been established for nearly 30 years across the West Midlands, East Midlands and Staffordshire.  They are now looking for an experienced vet to join the team near Wolverhampton.

The practice provides a spacious, light and airy perfect working environment with a surgical theatre, and a prep room, and all the usual gadgets including digital xray,(dental radiography at the main branch), multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasonography (Inc. Doppler), endoscopy, ECG. Additionally, they have a comprehensive in-house laboratory (microscopy, haematology, biochemistry as well as Idexx Catalyst for in-house results fast. ISFM cat friendly clinic and RCVS Accredited. There’s a good ratio of registered veterinary nurses also with cert holders in ECC, anaesthesia, Feline Nursing, and behaviour.

Based in an excellent location close to the M6 and M5 motorways, within easy access to Birmingham with its train links and the rest of the country as well as two nearby airports. Birmingham is known for the amazing Bullring and Grand Central shopping centre with diverse high-street fashion & household shops. With a fantastic nightlife scene, great restaurants, attractions, arts and culture and areas of natural beauty, you’ll have everything you need on your doorstep.

The staffs Wellbeing is of great importance to the client and there are several mental health first aiders in the group who are very approachable and are always there to support you both professionally and personally.

The practice and team are also a big part of the community sponsoring the towns junior football team and visiting local schools to talk about working in a veterinary practice. Working very closely with local charities, they often host fund raising events from dog shows, fetes at the local animal sanctuary, sponsored runs and coffee mornings in the practice. 

There is a loyal client base and the practice is highly trusted within the local community for providing exceptional veterinary care. The dedicated, friendly, experienced team pride themselves on providing the best care for pet and client alike. They have the facilities and resources to enable staff to work in a low stress, well organised, supportive, friendly, family feel atmosphere. Maintaining a good working environment and job satisfaction for all staff is of high importance to all which is proven in their low staff turnover and longevity in service, with some staff having been with the group from the beginning.

The surgery certificate holders routinely perform orthopaedic procedures such as TTA and TPLO. In the group they also have certificate holders or undertaking in exotics, ECC, imaging, medicine and a vet with a special interest in Ophthalmology and also a visiting cardiologist working up cases using Echocardiography/ECG.

At this practice, there will be occasions where you will be required to work sole charge, so it's important to feel confident in both general surgical and medical skills. Luckily, there are other branches nearby with experienced vet teams ready to help if needed.

You'll have clinical freedom and time to properly handle and take care of your cases, and there will always be a friendly team available for support. Your days will be set up to ensure you get a good mix of different types of appointments and surgeries. Plus, you'll have the chance to focus on areas you're really interested in and grow your skills. They really support and encourage further qualifications, offering funding and guidance to team members.

Typically, this role would be full-time worked over a four-day week, between 9:00am and 6:30pm plus Saturdays from 9:00am to 5:00pm on a rota basis. No out-of-hours requirements will be needed.
