Our client is a truly independent clinic who is looking for a Mixed Animal Vet to join the team.

The leaving vet has the travelling bug and therefore, the team need a passionate vet to fill the gap. The ideal candidate will have at least 1-2 years relevant clinical experience. The clinic is Scotland’s largest independent practice celebrating their  75th anniversary this year, with a genuine mix of 60% small animal, 30% farm animal and 10% equine. As such they are able to offer the desired species balance to the successful candidate.

They believe in making sure the team have the best work/life balance as possible and are therefore happy to explore flexible working hours if desired. There is an existing world class 1-in-15 on call rota, meaning the majority of your evenings and weekends are free to be enjoyed and 38.5 days holiday per annum is standard for full-time mixed vets.

The clinics are situated at the foot of the stunning Angus glens, with an endless list of outdoor activities within immediate reach in the mountains, the forests, the glens or on the rivers, lochs and shoreline. Kirriemuir, Forfar, Blairgowrie and Scone are busy rural towns with social, creative and sports clubs for all and in easy reach of Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Glasgow. A number of the team have come to the area for the job but have chosen to stay and settle because of all the area has to offer them and their families.

They place the happiness and fulfilment of the staff above all, and whilst this may be a big team they try their best to retain a family vibe. In work, they keep close tabs on the pace of work to ensure everyone has plenty of access to the cases they enjoy, whilst avoiding being over-loaded. They believe in giving you the space and time to do your job to the best of your ability and also believe in cups of tea, getting home on time and proper lunch breaks.

There is a defined career pathway for vets; allowing you to find your niche within the practice. If being the best clinician you can be is your thing, then that’s great, but there are also opportunities for mentoring, marketing, social organisation and leadership roles for those that wish to pursue them.
