Our clients based near Elgin are seeking a Clinical Director to join their team.

The group are modern, fully equipped mixed practice with small animal, equine and farm animal departments providing dedicated routine and emergency care throughout the Moray area. The 8 Vets are supported by excellent Nurses and Receptionists to enable them to deliver a caring, professional and efficient 24-hour service for their clients.

Small animals are seen at two branches, while the equine and large animal work is run mostly from main site. Both surgeries provide a comprehensive service for your pets with an extensive range of modern facilities and equipment. Hospitalisation is available where needed for sicker patients.
The area is the home of Aberlour whisky, as well as many others in the area. Located in a village in Moray, Scotland, 12 miles (20 km) south of Elgin on the road to Grantown. The Lour burn is a tributary of the River Spey, and it and the surrounding parish, but the name is more commonly used in reference to the village which straddles the stream and flanks the Spey.  Fochabers is a village in the Parish of Bellie, in Moray, Scotland, 10 miles (16 km) east of the cathedral city of Elgin and located on the east bank of the River Spey. 1,728 people live in the village, which enjoys a rich musical and cultural history. The village is also home to Baxters, the family-run manufacturer of foodstuffs. With Inverness and Inverness airport only an hour away, it is great for keeping in touch with city life.

The role of Clinical Director is of utmost importance within the practice. This role leads the practice in ensuring the best level of care is given to each client and their animals. You will be a key contact in both the clinical and non-clinical aspects of running the practices, with the opportunity to develop your interests and put your own personal stamp on it. You will work with the team, Area Director & Area Support Manager to develop and lead the direction of the clinics.  

The role of Clinical Director requires a candidate to have the following:?
  • Ability to support less experienced team members in all scenarios.
  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Personable and effective communicator.
  • Leadership and management knowledge or appreciation for same.? 
  • Focus on clinical excellence and best practice policies.
Ideally, some experience in management would be preferred but the role would suit an experienced Veterinary Surgeon looking to step up and progress in their career. The successful candidate would need to be enthusiastic, caring, and passionate. You will need to work well within a team but also be able to lead it when required.? 

This is a full time, permanent role working 40 hours per week over 5 days. Out of hours will be included. Salary up to £85,000 depending on experience plus a relocation allowance up to £7,500 and welcome bonus up to £5,000
