Our clients practice offer a wide and varied surgical and medical caseloads which are supported by laparoscopy and endoscopy equipment, digital radiography and CT. Team members include certificate holders in cardiology, surgery/orthopaedics, dentistry and internal medicine. Through their teaching associations with the University of Nottingham Vet School, you will have opportunities to work alongside leading surgeons and clinicians.
The clinic is situated in the rural East Midlands, Oakham is a pleasant market town with excellent road and rail connections, good schools and a wealth of leisure activities on the doorstep.
You will be joining this fantastic practice team, made up of 8 vets, including certificate holders in cardiology, surgery/orthopaedics, internal medicine, dentistry, 1 graduate vet, 10 registered veterinary nurses including 3 night registered veterinary nurses and advanced certificate holders, 2 student nurses, 3 hospital assistants supported by 12 customer care staff. CPD is encouraged and provided in order to maintain the delivery of the most up-to-date animal care, within a practice which fully encourages and supports your development.
Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a first-class, first opinion veterinary service supported by the experienced, fully qualified nursing and clinical teams. With the clinical freedom to follow and work up cases to a high standard, you will make a positive impact from day one and will be keen to contribute to their continued growth. The ideal candidate will be a team player who has an interest in future progression.
The role is permanent and full-time (part-time will be considered) working 40 hours per week, across 4-5 days. Consults are offered 7 days per week and the post-holder will be expected to participate in an on-call rota for in-patients only, with support from the permanent Night RVN team, one night per week and 1:5 weekends (Fri- Sun, with time off in lieu). VetsNow provide all other OOH cover.
