Our client has a group of practices in the Wolverhampton area and are looking for an experienced Vet to work in dual sites.
You will be across working in the main hospital and a nearby local branch practice. This will enable you to undertake more detailed medical work and surgery alongside the team of Certificate Holders/Advanced Practitioners. This allows you to also book your own cases in for your hospital day to work up with support and greater access to equipment. The branch has 2 theatres, Idexx lab, Ultrasound, Laparoscopy, dental x-ray. They are also a training practice for Student Veterinary Nurses and new graduate vets. The hospital is fully equipped with a CT scanner, Xray, lab, endoscope, etc. The practice is well located in the north of Wolverhampton, just 2 mins from M54 Junction 2. Easily accessible from all areas of the West Midlands and sits just minutes away from Staffordshire and Shropshire. Wolverhampton train station is 15 minutes away and Birmingham Airport just 40mins.
The branch day consists of 15-minute consultations with qualified Registered Veterinary Nurse on hand at all times. There will be up to 3 hrs of routine surgery a day – neutering, lump removals, dentals if desired. When at the hospital there will be a mix of surgery, diagnostics, medical work ups and assisting with patient in-care and emergencies if needed. The rota includes working full time over 4 weekdays, with a 1 in 3 Saturday rota from 9am to 4pm. There are no out of hours. The rota would generally be 9am to 7.00pm (Appointments are 9 or 9.30am start depending on location and last consultation is 6.15pm). Colleagues can leave when the day is done.
The team has many AVP/certificate holders who are happy to offer plenty of help, support and discussion for clinical development and activity. Certificate study is supported and development/progression to senior roles is possible.
