Our client is a large, friendly, long-established practice, close to the beautiful Ayrshire coast with convenient road and rail links to Glasgow (30 minutes’ drive) and central Scotland. They are now looking for a Full Time Small Animal Vet to join the team.

They have 3 practices in the local area with dedicated teams providing small animal, equine and farm veterinary services. The area provides an excellent base for those enjoying outdoor pursuits including equine sports, water sports, cycling, hill-walking and golf. The practice has all the usual gadgets - digital and dental radiography, multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring machine, ultrasonography (inc. Doppler), endoscopy, ECG. Additionally, they run a comprehensive in-house laboratory (microscopy, haematology, biochemistry as well as Idexx Catalyst for in-house cortisol, CRP, fructosamine, progesterone.), and a daily dedicated lab nurse to facilitate the above.

There is a team of 15 full and part time vets, including Cardiology and Ophthalmology certificate holders as well as plenty of proud general practitioners. The clinic is a Vets Now host practice, so inpatients can remain on site without worrying about the pragmatics of transferring unstable cases.
The role is flexible and could be moulded to suit your interests, whether they lie in the consulting room, operating theatre, or in 'hospital' inpatient care (or a mix of all). Niche interests can be supported and encouraged. Working 40 hour per week (full time) part time can also be considered with hours to suit the candidates needs. Working 4.5 days per week, 1:2 Saturday mornings (8:30am-1pm) and no OOH.

You must be RCVS registered, confident in sole charge and ideally have some post qualification experience with the ability to perform routine consults and surgeries (including neuters and dentals) unassisted.

If this is role sounds of interest please email your CV through to juliep@brightleaf.co.uk or give me a call on 01422 433900.
