Our client, based on the outskirts of Bradford are looking for an experienced Vet to join their team.
The practice is in a great location, easily accessible by public transport (there's even a bus stop right outside the practice!). There's lots of shops in the local area for you to grab lunch at, including a particularly good fish and chip shop and a lovely small cafe serving warm sandwiches.
A typical day for the Vets starts with an hour of consults, followed by operating until 3pm. After that there is an afternoon surgery with plenty of breaks in-between appointments to allow you to catch up with clients, tend to inpatients or grab a cup of tea. There are 3 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 1 Student Nurse along with a team of Receptionists. They work closely with a Roving Surgical Vet whose currently studying towards a certificate in Small Animal Surgery as well as a Peripatetic WX Scanning Team which consists of three certificate holders in Diagnostic Imagine - meaning plenty of people to learn from.! The client is also open to discussing any CPD you would like to complete or if you're currently working towards one. The practice has a Dental x-ray, main x-ray, new ultrasound machine, in-house laboratory, in-house Sedivue for urine analysis and they are currently completing our ISFM Cat Friendly Clinic status. They promote an open dialogue and focus on supporting each other at work. Every decision related to the practice is made after consulting the team and getting feedback from everyone involved. There are regular wellbeing afternoons where they build lanterns, make terrariums, paint portraits of each other and made Valentine’s card to tell their colleagues how much they appreciate them. They also had Santa Claus visiting the practice as a Christmas special. They regularly organise meals out, last year the team went axe throwing together.
Ideally this is a full time Veterinary Surgeon role for 40 hours over 4 days, with a share of Saturdays, with TOIL back, however they are also looking forward to hearing back from those that are looking for a more flexible or part time hours. There is no out of hours required for this role.
