Our client are a Veterinary Centre seeking an experienced veterinary surgeon to become part of our friendly and sociable team. They foster a genuinely supportive and collaborative environment, where teamwork is at the heart of everything.
They are a truly mixed practice, offering a varied caseload across farm, equine, and small animal work. Structured rota guarantees a balanced mix of each area, with dedicated operating days built in to give vets the time to follow through and work up their own cases to a high standard. Consultations are set at 15 minutes as standard and are arranged in bite-sized blocks to keep things manageable. Weekly clinical meetings provide time for discussion, case reviews, or simply a team catch-up.
Their location offers the perfect blend of work-life balance, with easy access to mountains, the sea, and vibrant city life. The standard working week is four days, from 08:45 to 17:00, with 6.6 weeks of annual leave each year. They run our own out-of-hours service, with a 1:8 rota that will become less frequent as they grow the team. Two vets are on call at any time — one as the primary responder and the second as backup. Each weekend on call is followed by a long four-day weekend off, and there’s also an additional mid-rota long weekend to ensure ample rest, as well as a cash bonus for each OOH call handled.
The clinic is well-equipped with excellent facilities across all species, including equine and small animal video endoscopes, ultrasound scanners for farm and equine work, high-quality small animal ultrasound, digital x-ray systems (including dental and mobile units), and much more. They also have back up from a large and experienced team of nurses, ensuring top-level support for every vet.
They area looking for someone who enjoys the variety that mixed practice brings. Whether your passion lies in farm, equine, or small animal work, or a particular specialty area, they are happy to support your development with a generous CPD allowance and the freedom to grow your interests. A car can be provided if required, and they cover all professional fees and subscriptions.
