An exciting opportunity has become available for a Veterinary Surgeon to join the welcoming team in Colchester. This role is ideal for a small animal vet looking for a varied first-opinion position where they can develop their clinical skills, enjoy genuine clinical independence and become part of a supportive, experienced team.
The practice offers a broad and interesting caseload, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to follow cases through from diagnosis to treatment while developing lasting relationships with clients and their pets. Although there will be some sole charge responsibilities, support is always available from sister practices
The successful candidate will work closely with the head Veterinary Surgeon, who holds a GPCert (ExAP). Their experience provides an excellent source of guidance and clinical support, creating an environment where case discussions, knowledge sharing and continued learning are encouraged.
The practice is equipped with modern diagnostic facilities, including digital radiography, ultrasound and endoscopy, enabling the team to deliver high-quality medical and surgical care across a wide range of cases. They actively supports career progression and welcome vets who are keen to expand their expertise or study towards further qualifications.
This position would suit a Veterinary Surgeon with at least one year of experience in UK small animal practice who is comfortable with routine consultations, soft tissue surgery and providing excellent clinical care.
The role is based around a three-day working week, with flexibility available depending on the needs of the successful applicant. The weekend rota is one in four, alongside occasional sole charge duties.
