The client has another practice in Haywards Heath has a "treating pets as friends" approach, and they constantly endeavour is to uphold their one-pet-one-vet concept. They register patients with one of the vets and always attempt to allow them to see the same vet, at each appointment, unless their problem is an emergency, or the vet is on leave. They intend to remain proudly independent for at least the next ten years. They want you to be able to think for yourself and make a treatment plan that is best for the patient AND the client's budget, not be expected to follow head-office-set guidelines for ‘care’. They will have digital x-ray, an excellent ultrasound machine and in-house lab. The team will consist at first of the partner full time, plus the new colleague vet, one RVN and a receptionist and will grow as the client list grows.

They encourage each team member to be the best they can be, and to follow their own dreams and goals. The partner is open to you to speaking to the other staff members to see what it’s like to work for them. They encourage the RVNs to perform all procedures they are trained for, so you will find them exceptionally well motivated and highly skilled. The partner does not insist that vets perform veterinary medicine in ‘her way’. She asks each of vet to make the best decision for each pet at that moment, taking into consideration its whole circumstances, including its owner’s budget. The partner has a GPCert(SAM) and CertVR, and is an OV.
Equipment at the practice:
The clinic is in an extraordinarily beautiful Sussex village on the coast. It backs onto the coastal path by the sea, and has excellent public transport connections.
The role is full time with no OOH, paid overtime, 1 in 3 Saturday mornings, tea and cake provided. This role would suit a new graduate looking for a VetGDP Advisor and peer reviewer to mentor them. partner has both these qualifications. The client list will grow slowly, initially allowing 30 minute appointments and more time for procedures. The successful candidate would literally be involved in every patient’s care, and every aspect of this practice’s growth. You will help re-create great client bonds, with a caring work ethic for both patients and clients. Ideally you start in September but the client is open to waiting for the right candidate. package is a salary or 31k pa, 5 weeks' paid holiday, paid CPD and memberships. Any overtime will be paid by an hourly rate for any time worked over the contracted hours per week, ie you are not expected to work overtime free of charge and the client regularly offer whole team bonuses.
